Yaron spent his childhood in a kibbutz named “Kfar Ruppin”. He will never forget his great childhood, with the nature that surrounded him, his parents that he could spend a lot of time with them because they were back early from work, and the fact there were no cars in the kibbutz (bicycles were everywhere and everyday was like “Yom Kippur” in the city).
Yaron’s love of music started from a very early age. He started playing piano before he was 6 years old and moved onto playing the guitar when 12.
It was when he was young that he discovered the ‘Voice of Peace’ and made sure the radio was always ‘turned on and tuned in’ thus making it his favourite radio station, just like 20 million other people around the Mediterranean .
In his adult years Yaron moved to Haifa to study food, biotechnology engineering and computers and eventually ended up working as a software engineer for IBM and spending time bringing up his young son.
It was in 2009 that Yaron joined The Voice of Peace. He says ‘I thank god that I was in the right place at the right time in to be able to have the opportunity to be a part of this great radio legend and present a show on The Voice of Peace.
At the beginning, Yaron presented “In Hebrew” – a show that had Hebrew music from all eras. But then he found there was so much great new Israeli music around, that he decided he wanted to dedicate the show to just ‘new’ Israeli music. Thus the “Hebrew A-list” show was born.
